This course teaches security professionals the legal and practical knowledge needed to perform their duties safely and lawfully. Students learn arrest authority, use-of-force guidelines, and de-escalation techniques while maintaining compliance with BSIS standards.

This 8-hour course includes classroom instruction followed by range training at an outdoor range. Students must pass a written exam and live-fire qualification. After completing the course, a Live Scan submission and State fees are required to finalize certification.
Prerequisites
Pass the State-required PSI exam before scheduling this course.

Bi-annual live-fire qualifications are required at least four months apart. Each session includes a mandatory 2-hour refresher course to maintain compliance and ensure continued proficiency.

This 4-hour course builds firearm proficiency beyond the basics. Students learn advanced techniques and tactical responses for high-stress situations through scenario-based range training that improves confidence, accuracy, and decision-making.
